Core Cards Creative Frenzy

Hey everyone!

Happy Friday!! Today I am posting my application for the Core’dinations design team. When I saw this opportunity pop up I was SO excited because I absolutely love Core’dinations, it is my number one favorite cardstock, hands down. What makes Core’dinations so special is it’s color core. You can sand it, tear it, or emboss it to expose a wonderfully coordinated color in the core! I’ve also got an awesome giveaway for you today so be sure to stick around for the entire post!

The first project I want to share with you is a fun caramel apple shaker card. I have included a video tutorial on how to make a shaker card, as well as a tutorial in a PDF version for your convenience :) Here it is:

Isn’t that so fun? As you can see, I used Core’dinations for all of the solid colored elements so I was able to sand each piece to add texture and dimension.

Want to know how to create a shaker card for yourself? Check out my video:

Or, if you would prefer, you can download the step by step instructions in a PDF format by clicking here:

The second card I have to share with you is a simple card that I think will be great with the school year just starting up. This blackboard thank you card would be the perfect card for an awesome teacher in your child’s life:

To create the blackboard I used a piece of cardstock from the Core’dinations Black Magic Collection that was black on the outside but had a white core. Then I sanded the card base so that it looked like a weathered old chalkboard. I stamped my sentiment in Dew Drops white chalk ink and added the blackboard frame and piece of chalk which were also cut from Core’dinations.

For my  final project I wanted to share an oldie but goodie. I shared this step card last summer as a part of my week long step card series. Of all of the step cards I have made I have to say this one has to be my favorite:

As you can see, all of my solid cardstock is once again from Core’dinations. I sanded each piece to add texture, including the puffer fish which I first embossed and then sanded.
